I got my F900BT 4 months ago and it was working fine until last week when the VR stopped working. I would press the main joystick to activate the VR and the system would freeze for a minute, then it would recover. Then the radio or ipod would permanently mute, except for the tones when navigating the menus. To clear the system, I would have to manual reboot. I noticed this problem after the MSN Direct free demo expired. I think that the VR software in the system is damaged, because everything else is working. Any ideas?

Sounds like a software issue. You could try restoring a backup copy.

i am also having the same exact problem...except my system doesnt freeze just the song display in the bottom right hand corner goes away until i get out of the map then back into it.

but everything else is the same...the audio muting except for the beeps when you press a button until i restart my car

I too have this same problem with the VR. Also my SD stopped working. The unit recognizes that the SD is there, just doesn't show any files, yet my phone and pc can see and access the files. Let us know if you also have an issue with the SD.

I got the same problem too but when i press the button all i hear is a weird beep sound...but everything else works knock on wood!

That what i would try. If you do not know how to reflash the 2.0 firmware in the hack and mod section someone wrote a how to on it. Goodluck guys

Well no joy. Tried performing update, but since my SD stopped recognizing songs / vids, it wouldn't even begin the update process. Tried multiple times, but to no avail. Used the reset button as well, but with no help. Is there a way, other than pressing reset, to do a full factory "hard" reset to restore unit to factory settings? This maybe the only way to do it short of sending unit back to Pioneer and asking for a replacement D3 instead.

I want to try reinstalling the 2.0 update but I'm worried about voiding and warrenty. I purchased the F900BT thru Crutchfield with an extended warrenty.

So I guess no fix? If not, all I have to say is, I HATE WINDOWS!

Has anyone been able to solve this problem? I've got the same exact issue. Press the volume knob to activate VR and you get nothing...all sound from the HU is gone but you can still navigate your way through the system and you still hear the confirmation beeps.

i ad all the same issues u guys r having i took a chance and picked up v3.0 and it worked all my fuctions where restored the only prob is vr is worse then it was before hope this helps ya out dont ask me how did i install it if the sd slot wasnt reading cause i dont know why but it did read the upgrade card

Has anyone had luck finding a fix to this. I still can't get my VR to work, it freezes the system everytime I touch the knob to use VR. I tried updating the VR dictionary and it just keeps updating it wont stop, once I leave the Ipod area it errors out. Any idea on how to get the VR to update properly?
