I just had a new reverse image boyo slim line backup camera (vtl 425 )installed with my new avic f90bt. I noticed the image is reversed ie mirror image. The camera is working correctly because the installer hooked it up to another unit (alpine)and the image was normal. The manual states to use a reverse image backup camera with this unit. Pioneer tech support says there is no setting to change to reverse it back to normal. Should I swap out my unit for a new one or is this some type of problem that can be corrected without getting a new unit.?? I bought the unit at amazon throught barneys electronics.

IMO you're fine. Reversed or not, it'll let you know if something is behind you before you start backing up. There's no reason you should be looking at the screen while moving backwards. There's no peripheral view from your tiny camera. If you're using it to see how many inches are between you and a large stationary object, reversed view doesn't matter.

why should he have to deal with the thing not function exactly like it should? i would try a different camera i use an audiovox and it has a little wire loop that you can cut if the picture is reversed (which mine is not). I use mine all the time to back up to my trailer, and it would be a pain in the a$$ if it was reversed

It's functioning as designed, so it is functioning as it should. It just doesn't include its own reverse video option, which would be nice.

I just wouldn't pay any more to have a camera re-installed or anything.
