Simple bitmap question

It's quite obvious to see that most of the bitmaps in the AVIC are longer bitmaps that only have a part of them shown on the screen at a time. For example, there will be 3 slightly different versions of a button: normal, highlighted, and grayed out.

How can I specify which one of these I want to use as a custom image for something?

Every bitmap has a corresponding .SPR file that describes how the file should be broken intoi pieces. For the bitmap itself, you either specify phase (or phasemodel), or specify the number of the image manually.

Great - can you provide a quick sample?

Look in navigatemap files, there's a bunch of them.
