Newb here...just finished installing my F500BT. When I start my vehicle, the unit will flash the bluetooth light for a few seconds and then nothing. I never see a splash screen or anything at all. I've tried pressing the power button, holding the power button down, etc. Nothing.

 

The installation is in a 2007 4Runner...I have tapped the parking brake wire behind the ECU (lt. green on BCM middle module)s, connected 12V constant, and I have the cig adapter plugged into the main cable (not the side of the unit).

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

OK, so I've rechecked all my connections, verified 12v constant, verified parking brake...still nothing. Do you guys get anything on your F500's...like the light around the volume know??? I'm starting to think the unit is DOA. Maybe the software is corrupt? But if so, how would I load a backup or new software without the unit showing a splash screen or anything? The bluetooth light is the only light on the unit that comes on (for about 2 seconds) and then goes off.

 

Any help?

 

This thing is really starting to get me worried that I defective unit.

SUCCESS!!!

 

What did I do? Well, I reseated the battery, performed a hard reset on the unit, and BAM! Pioneer splash screen! Everything works!
