Hey guys, just bought a D2 for my 350z and need some help with the install.
I bought the metra wire harness and have everything connected except for the reverse wire and the VSS wire. Has anyone installed the d2 on a 350z and what is the easiest way to connect those wires?

Here ya go. THere's a guy here who did what you're doing now so he'll probably be able to help you out with specifics.

Reverse Light orange or lt. green + driver kick, harness to rear

Speed Sense white 8P Unified Meter and A/C Amp, pin 26
Notes: The Unified Meter and A/C Amp is behind the A/C controls in the center console.

Ok, i think I found the speed sensor but still having trouble with the reverse light. do you know the guy's name on this forum that did the same set-up? Thanks

Does it matter if the reverse light wire is installed? Does it make a huge difference/error if not installed?

Not really a big difference. As far as his name, I don't remember. He'll probably see this thread soon enough though,

I don't have reverse hooked up and my D2 does just fine. The only time I go in reverse is when I back out of my driveway, which isn't very far, and it seems like my D2 shows the arrow going backward when I reverse even though I don't have the reverse wire hooked up (guess I have a decent GPS signal).

Is it really for nav or simply for the reverse camara?

OK I've got everything hooked up and seems to work fine. How can you run through the whole system to tell if you've got everything in order? which programs should I expect not to work?

I don't have a reverse camera (didn't hook the reverse wire up)

go to settings, info and look up 3d connection and the other settings button. it should give you basic info... are u getting good signal, is your install ok, etc.

and then just take it for a drive and see how it follows... and take some sharp turns to see if it gets thrown off. make a uturn, reverse, etc...

ok everything works great... Stupid question though, how do you turn the navigation (screen) off? I figured outhow to turn the AV off but can't with the navi. :D

So, newb question...but my understanding is that the reverse wire is in the driver's side kick panel and it's light green or orange? I am installing my D2 Monday...just trying to make sure all of my questions are answered before then.

To turn off nav screen press and hold P.ADJ/B.LIGHT Button.
