I downloaded the January 09 Gracenote update and followed all of the directions from the earlier threads

 

Nero 9

All 6 files in the root of the CD

Burned ISO9660+Joilet

Finalized CD

Burned at 16x (the slowest speed my burner allows)

 

When I insert the CD, it sits at the CD-ROM inserted screen and doesn't go any further. I've let it go for at least 5 minutes as I've read it takes a while. Any ideas? This is a native Z3, not an upgraded Z1 or Z2

Directly from the Pioneer website:

"The Gracenote CDDB database update is currently not compatible for the AVIC-Z3."

 

Currently, the only way to upload the gracenotes database is connect the Z3 hard drive to a PC, and manually copy the files for the update. Your drive will have to be unlocked in order to do this update...

For the European version, Pioneer have a downloadable software update to resolve the issues with the native HD3-II (comparable to the Z3). I would assume the same is available for the Z3.....
