I have a avic 900bt and was wondering how the unit knows when its day time versus night time? The reason i ask is because i dont have it hooked up to my Daytime Running Lights so it doesnt switch over when the head lights come on yet when night falls it runs my night map .. thx

Navigation software determines it based on your location and time of day.
