Wired, non-steering wheel remote experience, anyone?

I am trying to get a remote to work with the F90BT. Finding that I cannot use a wireless remote, I am trying to find other options. I also do not have steering wheel controls.

Does anyone have experience with using any type of wired remote (outside of the wheel) to control the headunit?

See this post to the Hacks forum. Looks like the Sony RM-X4S works.

The sony RM-X4S controls basic functions, I currently have one connected to my f90bt.

So do sony RM-X2S, I have that connected.
