I have recently bought an F900BT from a national motor accesories supplier and was quite surprised to find it had

2007 maps installed, I have now downloaded and installed the UK 2008.10 TeleAtlas maps buildings and POIs and they are working fine but can anyone tell me if there is a later version of map available for the F900BT.

 

Any feedback would be welcome.

Thanks for contacting Pioneer. There will be a new mapping disc at some point, but the mapping software is written by an externalcompany so it depends on when they have one ready. Sorry that you are not enjoying your product, speed issue's can be resolved to a certain degree with firmware updates, but I suspect if you like to do multiple tasks at once it may never be as quick as you were hoping.

2008 maps will be the latest, 2009 will probably become available at the end of 2009 beginning 2010. Can I ask though where you got the update from and how did you install it as I have a UK F900 as well and would like to do this.

Regarding speed issues, it is processing and multitasking speed issues, if I am playing MP3's and navigating and try to change screens quickly for example the system sometimes misses the button presses or the response is very delayed and by that time I may have pressed it again in frusteration, it then catches up and processes both button presses one after the other.

 

It is even worse if my phone is linked via blue tooth, I can live with it but i supect either the processor can't handle the load or some of the programming code is sloppy.

 

My system has Ver 2.1 firmware which is the lates UK version I can find on any Pioneer site.

 

If you have trouble with your map update drop me an E Mail and I will try to help but you should find all you need including the testmode files on this site.
