Hello all:

New to the forum with a BT500. Am interested in the additional functionality of MSN direct afforded garmin units (doppler radar, news, local events etc.). Has anyone worked out a way we can get this on our Pioneer units? Would be very interested in these extended features.

I'd like to see these new features too, but I wonder if the MSN Direct tuner in the Pioneer decks is capable of those features (i.e. the hardware)?

Okay i think if certain garmin devices are capable of having the doppler radar... i'm sure the pioneer units would be able to handle this feature

The 3.0 update posted in this F forum has them for the F series units. They all show up for me now.

The new update does not have the radar but since I day trade. I am loving that it has stocks now

So Im assuming its just coding somewhere in the update. Is there a way to download the coding from the Garmins and apply it to ours? Just seems odd to have 7 buttons and that last doppler maps one was just not added. I will say that with the newly added features and quicker response time, the MSN Direct is truly worth it now!

Im going to ask one of my buds that is big into modding his Garmin what we would have to do to get that code... Knowing pioneer, they are saving it for next years model...

Absolutely nothing you can do. It is in iGO executable and you'd have to completely rewrite it.
