Red Light Cameras showing as 66mph speed cameras...

Ok, so I'm trying to figure this out. I need to learn the format of the red_light_cameras_us file...

I downloaded these files from the Safety Cam Mod.zip set, and then wound up using Cmh's mod, but he has no speed camera info in there so I used the data files from the mod I downloaded.

But every time I pass/approach a RED LIGHT camera, it reports it as a 66MPH speed camera. Its obviously stored in the file wrong. If I could just fix it...

So I get an idea. I'll go into my avic, select a camera, edit it, make sure it's a red light camera only, reboot into testmode, pull the file back off the avic, search for the lat/long I wrote down for the camera, and see what it saved it as.

Problem... the file I pulled down off the avic is now in some scrambled binary format! Its the same exact size, but instead of text, it looks like I opened an exe in notepad.

Then I noticed the speedcam.spdb files... looks like it stores/converts it to a database.

So, any thoughts here? As soon as I post 'm gonna try looking at them with sqllite...

Ok when I try to open speedcam.spdb and speedcamupdates.spdb in sqlite browser, it tells me its not a SQLite 3 database.

Now, totally stumped.

Anyone?

SPDB is an internal format that text files get converted into. .SPUD is the file that stores all manual edits, and there are some tools for working with those.

Probably easier would be to take the original .TXT file, edit it in a text editor on your computer, then put back on AVIC (delete all existing files in Speedcam directory)...

Any clue teh name/location of a spud file?

And I know I can edit the original text file, but the problem is I dont know what values equal what camera types/etc... everything in the red light camera file is listed as type 7, speed 66mph. I dont know what that needs to be changed to to make igo see it as a red light camera. My thought of editing one, pulling it back off, then viewing the results wont work since I cant see what the contents of a spud file are...

Any clue what the editor/viewer is? Or what the format numbers are?

.SPUD is in the same location as .SPDB, most likely SPEEDCAM.SPUD.

Camera types:

1 - Static Camera

2 - Speed camera in a traffic light

3 - Red Light Cam

4 - Section Camera

5 - Mobile Camera

What are section and mobile cameras?

What are section and mobile cameras?

mobile cameras are those ones that are in a car

And section ones are the ones that time you when entering and exiting a certain stretch of the roadway, then measure your average speed. Seems to be more of a Europe thing for now...

Aah cool thanks for the info.

Last night I found the excel sheet for importing and exporting spud files... I put the red_light_cameras_us in there and set them right, loaded it up, and it worked last night.

it seems any new files I download I think I know how to fix now, by setting the right attributes in the file based on what Boris posted.

Thanks all...
