Hello, first i would like to thank everyone in here, i improved alot my avic!

BUT

I think that a >$1000 unit should be performing better!

In fact i dislike alot :

- Sound hiss when a source is selected at volume >30

- Global slow start and slow performing

- Fact that even with original pioneer adapter my steering wheel remote isn't fully mapped

So... I would like a clear answer: Should i dump it a for a kenwood? 5120 ? 8120? are those faster and no hiss?

Or maybe stick to pioneer with the HD3 ? does this one hisses? is it faster?

again... thank to everyone there! very good job :)

1) steering wheel mapping is vehicle and headunit specific, and there is usually always a little lag -- hard for you to blame that on Pioneer

2) The avic is a dog -- too slow for my tastes.. the Kenwoods blow it out of the water in terms of loading times and overall useage speed

3) The hiss may be your Pioneer unit or it may be the low pre-outs (2.0volt) going to your amplifier or the way your wired your unit -- not necessarily the pioneer's fault but could be

4) I agree .. for the MRSP of the AVIC, this unit is a tragedy .. for the street price of about $300-400 for the f900bt.. it's OK if you know what you're getting into -- but for what it's worth it has irreparable bugs that may render your unit USELESS .. better to spend more now and get the better unit -- buy a kenwood
