I am buying a used AVIC-D3 and I wanted to know if there is anything I can do to test it before I install it/buy it?

Here's what I did when I purchased my D3 (used).

Naturally, it was a LOCAL purchase.

My purchase price was $500.

I had the seller, meet me at the installation.

I gave him $250 and took him to lunch.

An hour and a half later we both returned to the Stereo place and went through the D3 which had been installed.

It all worked perfectly. I got a little tutorial in the process.

I gave the seller the remaining $250.

Deal done!

I'm also going to be buying one used very soon here. I'm going to be installing it myself, as (from what I've read) its not that difficult, and cheaper for me to do so. Can anyone recommend the functions that I should walk through before I hand the guy all the cash for this?
