I have a avic Z2 and all of a sudden 2 weeks ago it went from taking 10-15 secs to fully load thru the "loading pioneer navigation, and pioneer Logo screens" now its taking 3 over minutes.. no sound or anything comes out except if the radio was on prior to shutting down the truck the you would get music. would this be an indication of a impending lockup due to hard drive failure?

thanks in advance

Joe

It does sound like a failing hard drive.

Garret, what do you recommend, it is under Best buy extended warranty still, but want to upgrade to your Z3 drive

I would get the problem fixed via your extended warranty, then replace/upgrade the drive with a Z3 upgrade drive. Just my 2 cents.

god knows how long i will be with out a radio with best buy.. took them over a month with a laptop...

If you want a fast repair, you can replace the drive with one of mine. Just keep the original in case you ever need to use your extended warranty...

With the hard drive removed, your radio will still work but your GUI will look like crap and you won't have nav or hdd music. But at least you'd have radio. :)

yeah but best buy would take the whole unit, and something i just found out is they dont sell the Z2 or Z3 anymore so who know what they would do if they had to replace it.

HDD upgrade did not fix the problem has anyone had an issue wit it taking over 2 mins to fully boot? What was the fix?Pioneer says theirs takes 30 secs, and to send it in for repair.

the whole system operated slow when it does boot.

is there a way to open the unit up without voiding the warranty?

About 30 seconds is normal for a full boot. If you open the unit it will void the warranty.
