why not ask ducatiboy himself? or visit his website? Is your headunit a Pre-July2006 unit? Here is the link to his site:

Maybe I need to start packing them in something other than heat shrink tubing:

THIS UNIT IS ENCLOSED IN A DURABLE PLASTIC CASE! NOT SOME CHEASY SHRINK WRAP THAT CAN TEAR AT ANY MOMENT!

:) I wanted to add something to my auction that I figured out how to turn off the caps lock key on my keyboard. It is funny that his is 15 times the size, I believe it used relays and a 555 timer. And any one would recommend that you use heat shrink on the wires after you solder them. I just tried to rip or tear my heat shrink and me and another guy physically couldn't do it. You can cut it, but you won't just tear it. :)

This guy had contacted me a few times trying to get me to up my price. I assume that it's cause he wanted to make more for his. Or maybe if I upped my price he would use it against me.

I love Ebay! The people you find there are so DIVERSE!

hahaha his auction says the unit is smaller than a dollar bill, but it looks like its almost as thick as a brick! How many dashboards could it actually fit behind? And i love how he was taking a cheap shot at your unit, and he couldn't even spell cheesy right, spelling it "cheasy". Does he eat grilled chease sandwiches? lol How professional he is. And yes, I love how ITS IN ALL CAPS!

Yah his bypass is:
W 3 1/4" X H 2 1/8" X D 1 3/8" = 9.496 cubic inches

Mine is

W 2" x H 3/4" x D 3/8" = 0.5625 cubic inches

His is almost 17 times larger. I wonder what he used. If I wanted to be cheasy when I designed my circuit I could have done it with 10 components instead of 30. It still would have been smaller. :) His initial design had 5 wires too, he finally figured out how to do it with 4 about a week ago.

This guy I have taked to...

Very nice guy. A compeditor, but a very nice guy.

Why is his so big? PAC has been selling one for months that look exactly like his picture but its more like 1 in x 1 in x 1 in. They say it is for "marine use" of the Z1 only. Pretty funny

I don't know, I'm guessing that the larger relays are cheaper and he is using them. I have used relays that are 1/2" cubed. But I'm guessing there is also a lot of empty space in his enclosure. Just picked something off the shelf so it wasn't wrapped in some cheasy shrink wrap. :)

OK, who's measured their Ducati circuit?
