AVIC-D3 IR receiver or not?

How can I tell if my AVIC-D3 has the IR receiver or not?

 

There is a small round shaped area on the top right corner just next to the DVD slot. Is that some IR sensor or something else? I would just like to know that could I use the steering wheel IR remote for this or not. My 1997 Saab doesn't have the factory steering wheel buttons like the Saab's since 1998 have.

I believe that oval is the IR sensor for the Pioneer remote. Not sure if it will work with anything else.

Thanks for the info.. I ordered a CD-SR100 just for testing if it will work. No hard feelings if it doesn't.. only some 40 euros wasted. Lots of more money wasted just because I'm interested in women :lol:

Yep, CD-SR100 works just fine. It just has "audio" and "func" buttons that doesn't seem to do anything with AVID-D3.
