HELP!!! 90bt boot prob
Take it back to the place that installed it for you, OR start reading up on how to reload the software on the internal memory chip of the AVIC.
You can also try hard resetting with EJECT+RESET and see if that helps.
Most likely a hardware failure.
Sorry this is happening to you.
That prob is common. Usually the fix is to press the map button and the map should come up. If it does then most likley your sys automajically turned on the rear camera (even if you do not have one connected). If you do search this prob has been addressed alot on this forum.
Now if you press the map button and nothing happens your next step is to see if you can get into testmode (do a search in hacks/mods). If you can get into testmode you can try restoring the flashdrive with a backup. If you can not get into testmode send it to Pioneer.
Good luck and hope you get it fixed.
I'm having the same issues. Called Pioneer tech support, they say that this is caused by grounding the park brake wire. The tech stated that somehow this circuit is tied into the gyroscope in the headunit and it damages the gyroscope. Apparently they are getting a ton of these returned for the exact same reason. Looks like its back to pioneer for warranty repair this is the second time I have gotten the rebooting issue.

All of that is a lie. They actually do not know what causes the prob. If you do a search for it on the forum you will find there are multiple fixes for the issue. Some work for others and some don't. Usually for the black screen in the rear camera option gets tuned on automajicly by the unit.
Many people on the forum have been told that by Pioneer and they connect the parking break wire the right way and holly cr@p the fault is still there. Some people have had the unit intalled by the book since day one and had Pioneer tell them the same thing about the PB wire causing their fault, and when they tell them that te unit is installed according to the manuel Pioneer has nothing to say to that.
If you think about it and have some knowldege of electricioty and electronics it makes no since. If i connect the wire to my parking brreak like the book tells you, then when i apply the parking brake i apply a ground to the parking brake wire on the unit. If i ground the PB wire from the unit to the chassis then it s still grounded either by the parking break being applied or by me connecting it to a good ground. The only difference is that the unit thinks the car's parking break is on all the time. A ground is a ground. ![]()
Hope you get the unit working.
I had a good long conversation with the Pioneer Tech. about the exact thing you just explained. You see I know a thing or two about electricity and explained to him that a ground is a ground and it shouldn't matter when it is connected. His response is that if the PB lead is grounded while the unit is moving for an extended time then the gyroscope in the unit will be damaged. Now this is possible but pioneer would have had to almost design the problem into the unit, which really doesn't make sense. To me this sure looks like a software issue, however i don't exactly have access to the schematics for the unit to know for sure. I sure hope this issue gets resolved soon, this will be my second time sending my unit back. At this point I 'd just like a refund and pay the extra money for the alpine or eclipse unit.

I can kinda see that. You see i teach aircraft electronics systems and principles; specifically F16 which the whole avionics system is ran off of gyros. All a gyro really does in a nutshell is send signals to something (avic, DFLC, or whatever) and that something interprits those signals as moveing forward, backward, roll left, roll right, pitch up, pitch down, etc. etc. etc or just that the things is moveing.
I can see two issues. Software like you stated. The software getting a signal from the gyro stateing the car is moveing and also the PB ground signal telling the software that the car is stopped and the software does not know which signal to use.
The other is that the PB ground controls the circuit for the gyro. So when the PB is applied and the ground is present the gyro energizes and starts spinning and producing the signals to the software about car movement. The ground always applied the gyro is always energized and the motor for the gyro fails.
Cerwin please do not take this as a stab at you. I love to have conversations like this because i learn from them. I am no electronics engineer and i deffinitly do not know everything. Hell i forgot to zip up my pants earlier. So i hope i did not offend you.
