WHICH ONE? Pioneer F700bt or P4100DVD

OK.... So it's between these two HUs.

I'm torn because both systems are pretty good from what I hear; however, both are missing something that differ from each other.

Example:

F700 missing DVD playable capabilities, has GPS.

P4100 no GPS, but plays dvd

I have the iphone which allows me to play movies on the F700...and upon the iphone OS 3.0 I will have turn by turn gps.

So I don't know which head unit to go with.

I would appreciate any input on this...

Thanks.

navi for the win, or get the f900 and have navi, bluetooth, AND DVD

f700bt because you can add an external DVD player for far less than an external GPS module

I had the F700... and it is garbage. I went through 4 of them. I finally went ahead and got the P4100. It has a bigger screen, so it makes it look a lot less aftermarket. Start up is much quicker. No annoying proprietary iPod interface cable.

You have an iPhone. You pay $30/month for the data plan. Use it. Google Maps is included. I couldn't stand the voice coming in 4 times to tell me to turn. The F700's maps have to be updated as well...

I saved $300 in the end.

How did you go through 4 of them? were you bricking them via software or simple hardware failure or what?

And I have an F700BT that runs fine and I would buy again in a heartbeat, so YMMV

No annoying proprietary iPod interface cable.

There's nothing proprietary about it, it's a standard ipod USB+Composite cable, plenty of manufacturers make them, some of better quality then others.
