i have been searching for a while now and i cant figure out how to get up dowloaded maps to work, i have the 2008.10 maps and when i put them into the igo folder keeping the same file structure it does not work, when i boot the GPS, there is no maps on the screen.

This has been addressed here at large. Do a search for 2008.04 maps. The 2008.10 maps will not work with your Avic since they are meant for the newer version of iGo (8.3.x)...

THere are (euro)2008.10 maps that work with the pioneer, only you need a hacked ez-rider and igo world license.
