Hi, I bought an Pioneer AVIC F90BT recently , along with a Metra 70-5519 wiring harness and a Metra 95-5026 dash kit from crutchfield...

I have connected all the wires from the metra wire harness, to the pioneer wire harness. The majority were not a problem, but there are a few that I'm not sure if installed correctly...

From the metra harness I took the amplifier ground, chassis ground and negative dimmer and tied them all together. Then I took the 2 black/white amplifier grounds from the RCA harness , and the ground from pioneer harness, tied the 3 together. Then I the 3 tied wires to the other 3 tied wires using a vinyl butt connector. Is that OK?

I took the 2 blue/white amplifier turn on wires from the Metra RCA harness and connected them to the blue/white remote power wires on the pioneer RCA harness. Is that correct? Because I also have a blue power antenna wire on the pioneer harness that I am not using (have it taped up).

And finally, I put the 2 RCA cables from the metra RCA harness into the pionner RCA harness, -the subwoofer outputs. Is that correct? I initially had them in the Front output jacks (as lots of forums said to put it there), but it sounded horrible. I think it sounds a lot better in the subwoofer output, but it's really late and can't go test it out anymore tonight.

I also did the nav hack by moving the mute wire to pin 4 and grounding that along with the parking brake! thank you guys! works good!

any advice would be appreciated, thanks!

disconect the negitive dimmer wire (there shouldn't be anything connected to it)

do you get a "POP" noise when you turn the system on (if so you need to place a 1450ohm resistor in line with the remote amp turn on wire, blue w/ white) if you dont, sounds like your good

and yes the RCA's should by plugged into the sub outs not the fronts and dont forget to turn on the HPF (high pass filter) to remove any low bass from the smaller speakers to help protect them from blowing

You're the second person to tell me to disconnect the negative dimmer wire, will do that tomorrow. Nope, no pop noise when the system turns on! Thanks for your input!
