Hi DUCATIBOY,

Oh, well then forget the cloth/cleaning tissue. I figured windex and newspaper or paper towel works fine for me.

Actually, I had logged on today to the forum to see about having a few concerns I've been having with the Z1 addressed.

In fact, I may start a new topic if I don't find an appropriate topic to post it in. But my initial thinking that you, Ducatiboy, were the one to approach with this. The long and the short of it is that I may need to go to a Circuit City or something. But here is what the trouble I am having:

Every morning as I take off to go on deliveries (working...lol) the arrow is crooked, not pointing forward, not re-directing me, not identifying turns and waypoints. So therefore, I have to reset the learnign status or whatever. The screen at Settings/hardware/3D Configuration and reset the bottom selection. After doing so the arrow is immediately corrected and the voice assistance comes back after a while along with the other issues. Now that's the trouble... But something else that I noticed, which I believe is related, is that on the 3D Configuration screen it shows that there is a speed pulse (8625 or whatever). I have never actually seen it change but everytime I leave the screen and return it is generally an increased number. But when I goto the other screen that displays the "speed pulse" info it has read 0 (zero) since day one. That number doesn't change when moving, standing still, etc...

But on the other screen it shows a speed pulse, or something; just really confused!

So maybe you'll see the message here.

But I also wanted to thank you once again for the flasher unit, and wondered also if you had any expirience with the motorola balckberry 7130e in conjuction with the Z1 also.

You just seem to be the man! I imagine I can speak for all, in that, we all appreciate it just the same!

I don't know but it seems that the speed pulse wire might be hooked up but to the wrong location, something like this would make me want to check out the VSS wire and see if it's hooked up, if it is, disconnect it and reset the 3d configuration data and see if that helps.

If the 3d configuration screen are you simple hybrid or 3d hybrid?

If you go to the connection status screen when you drive does the speed sense wire ever change? You say no, but check to be sure.

If it doesn't try resetting the 3d configuration section anyway. I suppose you could do that without taking the unit out and looking at the wire. But it sounds like the wire is hooked up or was to something not compatible.

I see all the messages in the Z1 section. I try to keep up with all the posts in the Z1 section. I might not see them in the "vehicle specific" section, but Z1 I keep up to date on.

No sorry, not black berry experience at all.

I dont know how to separate out the conversation to respond to particular points or questions. So i'll do the best I can...

Ducatiboy- In the 3d configuration screen are you simple hybrid or 3d hybrid?

mhyde71- It usually says learning status because i am having to reset it everyday. But once it is comnplete it says simple hybrid. Once and only once have I ever seen it say 3d Hybrid.

Ducatiboy- If you go to the connection status screen when you drive does the speed sense wire ever change? You say no, but check to be sure.

mhyde71- really never changes... and i've watched it many different times for long periods of time as well. Awfully strange.

Ducatiboy- If it doesn't try resetting the 3d configuration section anyway. I suppose you could do that without taking the unit out and looking at the wire.

mhyde71- A few times before when I reset the learning status then went back to the other (connection) screen, and an error-like message popped up and said that "With out the vss wire connected properly the unit wont go in to 3D. That it will be okay but just not until the wire gets hooked up."... In pioneers words of course but that was the jist.

mhyde71- fact, I may start a new topic if I don't find an appropriate topic to post it in. - I stated last time...
mhyde71- Are we allowed to do that? And, how does one separate out certain parts a discussion like how you did responding to me before? That's kind of neat.

Ducatiboy- Hi, but yikes, what a thread hijacking....

mhyde71- That's interesting too, I will be mindfull. Never knew it even exsisted, makes perfect sense though. Thanks! -mh

When you see the post you want to do that to, click on the "quote" button on the top right of the message and then copy and past

bracket quote="mhyde71" bracket (where bracket = square bracket)
and
bracket /quote bracket

You will see them when you hit quote. I can't do them exactly or the system will think they are codes to split the message again. Just put them around what you want to respond to.

Actually I usually go to the end of the post and put

bracket /quote bracket
-enter-
-enter-
-enter-
bracket quote="mhyde71" bracket

And highlight that and then copy it into the clipboard and when I click on "quote" I go through and paste that into the message where I want to interject.

But your way works too. Just not as visually easy on the eyes. :)

Really sounds like the speed sense wire is connected to a wire which is close but not correct and the Z1 is trying to calibrate and it is kinda locking on and then it doesn't and that wire is feeding it movement data and it's not right.

Yah it should change with the speed of the car

Yah, but it's better to have it not hooked to anything than the wrong thing. If you can find the right VSS wire then hook it to that, but it sounds like what you have is causing more harm than good.

Yes it was, but I fixed it.

No problem. I would try pulling the VSS wire off of what ever it's connected to, reset the unit again and then you won't have 3d hybrid, only simple hybrid, but give that a shot, the weirdness should go away.

Okay cool, I will give that a shot and see where it brings us.

Thanks so much as always....!
