In spite of some of the negativity surrounding the F series, the 700 is on my very, very short list.

If I am to understand what I read, the upcoming firmware change is going to resolve most of the voice activation concerns and such?

My main concerns... this unit will be going into a 2005 Mustang convertible. Since our summers are short (and we don't drive the car in the winter), the top is down every chance we get. I have no doubts that wind noise will probably play havoc with voice commands. And that brings me to the second part of my concern.... with voice command function being limited by background noise, am I going to find that the sun shining on the screen is going to limit touch functionality (readability)?

Any insight appreciated....

i cant see anything when my moonroof is open and the sun shines on it, i can only imagine how much worse a drop top would be, and i cant use my voice rec if the windows are down.

Tank you... you have saved me from wat could have been a frustrating and expensive mistake.... I went with the FH - P800BT. Not so much bling but it does the trick....
