I created a cd using ITunes, when put into my z3, all info is blank, song plays correctly.

I put an AC/DC cd in and it shows the appropriate information.

I have a Z2, with a Z3 HDD bypassed, I also applied the 09 CDDB update.

I also created a cd using Roxio and the info was there, but that was before i applied the update.

Thanks for the help

If you create a "custom" cd, using itunes, obviously Gracenote will not recognise it, as it's not an existing CD. Only way you could get info, is burn the CD with CD-text info....

Gotcha, thanks

Is it possible to burn a CD with CD-text info on it, and the Avic head unit will show these song names etc.?

Yes, CD-text has precedence over Gracenote....

That's what I usually do with a new CD that's not in the Gracenote database yet... Burn a copy using Nero, automatically adding CD-text from the online internet database, and then use that CD on the Pioneer to rip to the harddisk....

I guess that I'm not smart enough to burn a cd and put the titles and album title on it then play it in the car. I have about 15 non grace notes albums and have been successful in using the keyboard to imput the titles and artist in manually. Is there any way to remove the date of the recorded album and insert with the keyboard the title of the album? I checked on line with Grace Notes and called them and found that they do not support end users of their products. If there is no other way I guess I will have to re-record the albums and follow the instructions in this blog.

Thanks for any assistance you can give on this matter.

If you burn a CD in iTunes, cd-text including album title will be on of the options. Check the manual for manually inputting the album title. The manual is found online if you don´t have a hard copy. Sorry I don´t have a better answer at this time.. Good luck!
