I noticed that a few mods are adding lane assist to the igo 8.

I was using a mod that did not have this and wanted to steal parts of it. Any help/suggestions on where to look to mine that part of the mod out and add it in?

I found one thing searching the forum where the sys.txt has a lane_assist flag in the debug section, but it sounded to me that this was what I'm looking for?

Any pointers?

If you mean the unit showing little arrows indicating which lane you should be in, this is a part of the factory skin, and all mods do is recolor it or move it around a bit. If you mean actual road signposts with directions and arrows, this will be in the 3.0 firmware update...

I was referring to the former of the two. I was under the impression the road signs aren't avail until iGo 8.3 (just repeating what you said - I know).

I was going to attempt to modify the skin and wasn't sure where to explore. I know not to get over my head, but have been updating other mods I feel confident I can revert back to a previous backup.

So - I suppose it will just take some explorer.

You're welcome. I don't think any mod I know of would actually remove lane info. Some might make it configurable, though, so check Visual settings to make sure it is actually turned on. I.e., the latest version of Stanislavovich's mod lets you chose between top, bottom, and off for lane info position.

Otherwise, it's not too difficult to add back by looking at the original DATA.ZIP and copying the code from there.
