I have had a f900bt for a day I am sure I could come up with a few more. but I do like it. I am sure these are things people have worked out. Is there a way to add your current locating ie where you are sitting as a destination or home? I tried putting in my home address, I know its not accurate but you would think you could sit in your driveway and set that as your home location, if I type in my address It says it doesnt exist and pics a location about a block away. I have a mygig in my jeep you can window the map and have your playlist/radio presets on the side. is there a way to do this with the Avic?

The GPS seems to be inaccurate by tens, if not a hundred feet at times. I had the same problem with setting "Home" on my unit by address as it wants me to go to the next block. You can correct this by saving the coordinates while parked in front of your house as "Home." I don't remember which menu to do this through, but if you play around a little you should be able to find it.

If you put the cursor to where you want your home address,then bring up the map confirmation screen,you have the option to save as....Maybe this would be more accurate?

but i have my house set about a block up the street

for two reasons

first that way the unit thinks i got home just before i do and changes back to regular mode

a few times before i moved my home location i would get home turn off my truck and

the next time i started up and took off it was still trying to route me home

the second reason

i heard a story once of some one getting their car stolen and they pushed home on the gps and went to their house

and robbed that too since they knew no one was home

i know the second one is a one in a million chance but

the first reason was enough for me

and if i cant find my house from a block away i have more problems i need to address first

hahaha as funny as it is the first one is pretty scary.

As for the 1st reason that's true but you're not always coming from one side of the road.

If you're coming from the opposite you'll be turning into your house before you've reached finish.

Still, for me its not a big deal to cancel the route when im in my drive way and setting up the unit so that it starts up quick next time i turn on the car. Then again, this is coming from a soon to be owner so what do I know.

well for me i drive to my house from the same way every time

only because its the easiest way so it works

but i can see where it wouldnt work for some people
