Have the Avic-z2, and notice that it just randomly turns off sometimes. I think it only does it when I am using my Sirius, but Im not sure. It used to do it like once a month, but did it 3 times on the way to work this morning, anyone have any ideas?

I would check and make sure that you don't have any loose wire connections. Be sure to check the plug between the factory connector and the adapter connector. I have seen loose pins in the connectors.

Does that account for it randomly turning off though? Usually I figured it would either be on or off, not just randomly turn off whenever it feels liek it

Depends on bumps :)

Does it ALWAYS turn back on when you turn the key off and back on again?

actually, It will turn off, I can just turn it right back on while still driving, which makes me think its a software glitch rather than wiring or something.

ah, so the whole headunit does not power down? GPS stays working, but your audio source switches to 'off'? If this is the case, check the IP-bus cable at rear of HU and Sirius unit. Also check power and ground at Sirius unit. If the head unit stops seeing the Sirius unit for some reason, then it would most likely turn the 'source' to 'off'.

yea that is basically what is happening, the source is being turned to 'off' but the unit stays on, and I can just reselect it again. Ill check and make sure everyhting is nice and tight
