im from NY ... i got the unit from a friend, and now some people tell me that the bracket is never included with the box ... can anyone confirm this ??

If youre talking about the mounting cage, yes that is included in every one of the n series and d series avics. The only avic that doesn't include the mounting cage is the z1.
