Iphone Component Cable with F Series — AVIC411 Forum Archive

Hello All:

Just picked up an iPhone component cable so that when I purchase my new F900 i can be prepared to hook it all up with my iPhone.

Question I have is... I just noticed that this cable is component only! I've noticed several members on this forum recommending the iPhone cable...DO I have the correct cable?

No a component cable will not work for the F-series. What you need is the composite cable its the one with yellow video and red/white audio.

i think you want to buy the pioneer iPod/iPhone cable.

Otherwise you will not be able to control iPhone from the AVIC. The Apple cable is missing the USB connector required for AVIC remote control.

The Apple cable does work but you have to make sure you get the one that has component output WITH usb. The Apple cable is of higher quality.

As stated above the component cable is the wrong one. You need the composite cable. And it does have the USB connector for control and charging just like the Pioneer cable.
