One sd card works, two don't

I've searched this forum pretty hard but didn't find a problem quite like the one I'm having.

I'm new to the music on sd card thing, but it was a big part of why I chose the f90bt. I usually only listen to 5-10 songs at a time and then get sick of them and go erase them and put on some new ones.

The first time I used my sd card player was to test a digital voice recorder. I put a brand new, unformatted 1 gig kodak sd card into the dvr and made a test recording. I took out the sd card and inserted it into the f90bt--played perfect. The dvr put 4 folders on the card depending on your recording source--2 for mics, 1 line, and even a music file to download to.

Yesterday I went to radio shack and bought 2 sandisk sd cards, one 2 gig sd, and one 4 gig sdhc. I dragged and dropped some files from I-tunes onto the 4 gig card from my laptop and took it out to the F90bt--won't play. Causes the unit to reboot. I get a little static from the speakers like somethings happening, but no music. Next I looked at the sd card from the dvr on my laptop and saw the folders. I put the 4 gig sdhc into the dvr and it put the same 4 folders on it. Then, from the laptop I deleted all but the music folder and put all the music (mp3's) into the music folder. Still makes the f90 reboot.

I tried all the same things with the 2 gig sd card and all it does is reboot when I try to play the sd card. Nothing else causes a reboot. I don't have any of the infamous 'black screen' or 'constant reboot' problems I read about here. The 1 gig sd card with recordings from the dvr plays fine--only the ones with music from my laptop cause a reboot. After a reboot, I put the sd card in my laptop and see that the f90bt has added a gpslog folder and some other one. I tried to lock the sd card to see what would happen, but it didn't make any difference. If I put any sd card into the dvr and play the music files off of that--they all play just fine--as they also do in windows media player off of the laptop.

Am I doing something wrong? I see lots of sandisk cards used here with no problems so I don't think that's the issue. I've tried formatted and unformatted, but only the one from the dvr plays, the other ones reboot. Any ideas?

I never expected to find out that this could be the cause. One song of the 9 I was putting on the sd card was casusing the crash. I don't know why, but it definitely was.

I tried everything I could think of--got a new usb sd writer, put the songs on the one card that worked--and then it failed too, tried to put them on one at a time instead of all at once, reformatted over and over, nothing worked. Finally, I put one song on and tried it--success! Then another, still good...then 3 more, okay, then the rest--crash.

So I put them on one at a time and checked until it crashed. Michael Jacksons 'Another Part of Me' downloaded from Walmart.com makes it crash. I reformatted the card and dragged and dropped all the other songs--purchased at the same time from the same place--and it works flawlessly. It doesn't even cut off the end of the songs.

If anyone knows why this might happen I'd love to hear it. I burned the song to a rewritable disc and it plays all the way through so it's not a digital rights thing. But it was a tough problem to have on my first attempt to use SD cards.

BTW--any advise on how to organize folders? I put all the songs in the root file of the card--does this matter? I'd imagine it would be useful for me to organize by artist or style, but my tastes are so varied I usually just put a bunch on a disc and play it until I'm sick of it then. Then I'd have to burn another before I got a rewritable drive. Now I plan to use the SD card the same way, so is there anything I should know to make it work better or faster?

i have my music in folders like this

type such as

rock

country

rap

hip hop

r @ b

play list (this is where i put the songs i listen to most)

then i have it by artist

then you can do by cd if you choose i didnt because most artists put the same song on more then one cd

tip make the play list folder first the unit will always start with the first song in the first folder

and it is based on the order you add to the sd card

this is only if you remove the sd card thou

if you dont remove it it will just restart the the last song
