is there any problem if i hook up the speed sensor that comes out of the unit and wire it to the speed sensor on the transmission?

That's usually where speed sensors are located. Most speed sensors detect the speed from the transmission.

My speed sensor was located at the diagnostic connector (OBD), below the driver's side fuse block, inside the cabin. Easy tweesy for me
