Hi all. I have been away from the forums for awhile so I am sorry if I already missed this. I looked around first...

I have some mods on my Avic including the 8.10 maps. I think it was 8.10... anyway I purchased the 3.0 map SD cards for $68.

When it comes what is the procedure of installing this on a modded unit? Should I restore back to my factory setting first or just install on top of the mods?

Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure the mods will work since the upgrade is switching from iGo 8.0 to iGo 8.3.

So I doubt it will be a direct drop in of mod - instead it will likely require adapting the changes to the new base files/.ui/etc...

I know the mods won't work. I am just wondering if I have to set it back to factory before the update or will it just override anything that is there. I guess to be safe I will just copy back the factory first.

My misunderstanding. The chances are that it will overrite all the files. much like a modded 2.0 going to 2.006 gets overwritten.

I updated my 900 from 2.0 modded with CMH to 2.006 and Some things were still left... like the speed cameras still show up.... all the map colors are still there. Also... I now have a glitch... if I hit MENU then Settings quickly after.... Win CE will crash and reboot the system..... I wish I had a full back up so I could start all over.
