As the title says i'm in the uk so i am not sure if you guys and gals use the same system as us, i use a site called "poicon" , from there i down load the file then install it onto an sd card, then place the card in the unit and turn it on, after it boots up i switch it off then on again within 20 seconds. Any way, upon installing the data onto the sd card you have 3 options, option 1 install, option 2 update, option 3 erase. After trying both the install and the update i'm sure my unit has duplicated camera sites all over it, now i do realise hear in the uk we are full of the bloody things
but 4 on one spot is a bit much lol, i have tride installing the erase so i can start a fresh but that doesn,t seem to work
. For me it would be nice to see maybe a load line or somekind of screen saying install complete after the boot up with the data on the card instead of nothing, at least that way i could be sure it has worked the 1st time. I guess this post may be a totall waste of time if the us unit does not install this data in the same way but its worth a type because theres nothing like this site over hear ![]()

US units don't get any kind of camera data at all. We need to hack them to get it ![]()
I don't know what kind of file POIIcon supplies, but if they give you a standard iGO speedcamera text file, it might be easier to just copy it over to AVIC in testmode...
As a fellow UK user, I well understand the need to have accurate speed camers information, and I use the free (for a year) site provided by Pioneer.
I am not knowledgeable about the workings of the unit, but subject to any comments from those that are, I suggest that you try to wipe clean your speed camera data by going into the system via testmode and deleting the speed camera data i.e. two files in apl2/igo/content/speedcam/.
If you need any help, do pm me and then we can correspond better by eMail.

Thanks guys, i may well pm you colin if i get stuck so as not to clog up the forum with more of my numpty questions
. Just out of interest how do you find the data base from pioneers sub contracter (so to speak) ? I allso run a snooper (gps based system) along side in the car and that is awsome, never failed a camera yet, allthough if you have the stereo on its very hard to hear so if the f900bt dowloads are good it would be a bonus.
cheers.
