I bought my wife an '06 Buick Lucerne and would like to do the bypass on the Z1. I haven't a clue how to remove the unit. I realize that maybe different cars have different methods but I'm hoping I might get some info here. I can't see how it can be accessed from the rear and the face plate is actually part of the nav unit. Am I missing something pretty basic?

You'll have to remove the dash enough to access the bolts on each side of the unit. Just unscrew those (make sure your Z is supported while doing this) and remove the unit after unplugging the cables in the back.
