Attention users of the Samsung Eternity A867 phone who are having bluetooth audio issues with their Avic f700, f900 or f90BT.....
I was using my samsung eternity phone with my avic f90bt and every time I would speak with someone they would tell me my audio sounded absolutely horrible. I tried moving the microphone all over the vehicle and it didn't help at all. It got to the point where people were refusing to talk to me on my bluetooth because they had to strain so much to figure out what I was saying.
If you are having similar issues with your samsung eternity, check to see which version of the bluetooth software you have on your nav system. I had bluetooth software version HW100-SW330 RC3 (which is the latest version as of July 2009), but when I switched to the older version of the bluetooth software (HW100-SW290 RC3) my audio was improved significantly.
If you are having bluetooth audio issues and have the latest bluetooth software, you might consider reverting to the older version. You can download the older bluetooth software at the link below. (the link will take you directly to the avic-f90bt software update page where you will see a list of all the updates for the unit).
after you visit the link above you should see a link for "AVIC-F90BT ALTERNATE Bluetooth Software Update (Version: HW100-SW290 RC3)". Use that link to download the older bluetooth software. (interesting how they call it the "alternative" update when it's actually just an older version of the software)
Info on how to install the bluetooth software upgrade can be found here:
