All:

Does the old GEX-P10XMT tuner work with the newer F- and brand-new X-series AVIC units, particularly the AVIC-X710BT?

I've already seen posts on here indicating the XM NavTraffic won't work with these later units. That makes since, since the F- and X-series units either don't have the right data input connector and/or haven't been programmed to even use the XM NavTraffic feature of the older XM unit.

However, I need to know if the regular XM radio functionality from the P10XMT work with these new units. I'd rather not have to go out and buy a new XM tuner!

Any definitive response on this would be most appreciated! Thanks!

Yes you are correct... No NAV Traffic... just make sure that you call XM and tell them you want the basic service not the full nav traffic. if they tell you that your unit can only be activated as the nav traffic one tell them that they are LIARS. lol I had that problem with one of my customers. XM got it figured out and was able to activate as just the basic service.

And you're SURE the station/channel name,s song/artist titles will still show up? Mode/category selection still there, etc?
