Can anyone tell me what is wrong with this piece of code?

runif %navigation.curr_speedcam.speed_limit.number_text <21 'alert1.wav=gatso_ahead.wav

Thanks

number_text is most likely a string, not a number. If you are doing a numerical comparison, use speed_limit itself...

Thanks for your response and your help.

As you will have guessed I am tring to change !alert1.wav to a different sound depending on different conditions, although for the moment I am just trying to change the sound regardles of the condition. From tests and trials I am not achieving a simple sound change by using

run "alert1.wav" = "red_light_camera.wav"

Indeed the system crashes on boot-up!

Can you tell me if you think this has the wrong syntax. I have tried to find what the programming language is, so that I can learn a bit more, but that has proved impossible!

I am really grateful for your help.

You're welcome. Programming language is NavNGo's very own, and they have never released any definitive documentation on it. People have to figure it out by trial and error.

Your syntax is all wrong, though. RUN command executes lines of code or calls scripts, and you are trying to assign one string value constant to another. That won't work. If you want to play a file, do playsound 'filename'

You could check one of the existing mods here (ill.die.trying or GTIMatt have spoken camera alerts as well as the latest revision of my mod) that have already implemented it.

OK it seems back to the drawing board!

Can you tell me how I can download your file that incorporates spoken instructions?

Thanks

Mine would be in the Pregress Report thread in this forum. IDT's and GTIMatt's are here as well.

I think I have previosly found what you are referring to - http://www.megaupload.com/?d=OZQNZ7V1 - but the link seems to fail.

On a different subject, you mentioned yesterday that the language is Pioneer's own. But is this sat nav not really an IGO product, so should the question be what language does IGO use, or is it again their own.

Again your help and guidance is much appreciated.

Ever since i moved to Stanislavovich's mod I haven't really kept mine up. I could see if I can find some code that worked for spoken announcements... pretty sure I still have some at work.

The language is NavNGo's own, Pioneer just licenses iGO software from them.
