I just got a AVIC-F500BT as an upgrade to my old Mio. I upgraded to the latest 2.x firmware and BT version 390. I have the 3.x firmware on order.

Some questions:

1. How can I get the tilt/pan controls to go away in 3D mode?

2. How do I transfer the phonbook from my BB8310? I tried transferring the entire book from the bluetooth options menu but nothing show up on the avic.

3. Can the route info area display other useful information when a route is not set? For example MPH.

4. If I install alternate software from http://gpssoftware.us, can I restore the default software by reinserting a SD card with the 2.X firmware?

1) you have to click the square box in the middle of the controls

it can but you have to modify your data.zip, check out the hacks thread
