Just got my x910bt installed this weekend and I'm extremely happy with it. But I do have one issue with the GM onstar module. This module took over my door, seat belt, back up sensor and turning signal chimes. The new chimes are different and could get some getting used to but I feel they are a bit too loud for my taste. Is there any EASY way to turn this volume down, without me having to take it back to the installer to do?

Do you know what module they sold you? Depending on the module you might be able to do it yourself. But you may hav no other way than to take it to the installer.

+1 some modules have a volume settings knob for adjustments on the module itself, some have a sequense that you follow and use the headlight controls(maybe its the dimmer) to adjust it

If you have Metra's GMOS-LAN-01 GM data bus interface there is a small pot called Chime Volume Adjustment on the side.

It's safe to assume he doesnt even know what the unit looks like since he took it to an installer

Drod - Go to the installer, see if they'll do it for free, they should... most do at least... if they don't let us know and we'll try to walk you through it.

Yes any reputable installer will adjust it for free.....

If it is a Scosche part all you have to do is put the key in the ignition open the drivers door and use the dimmer dial to turn the volume up and down...

Thanks guys for all the help. I believe I have the Metra, so I might have to go back to the installer. I'm sure they'll do it for free.
