I'm trying to hook up my 8g ipod to the F90bt. I'm using the USB cord that comes out of the back of the unit and then it plugs into the iphone, I'm able to see the interface and control everything from the head unit but I'm not getting any sound... What am I missing? Hopefully it's an easy solution!

Thanks in advance!

Right above your post is the FAQ, inside the FAQ is question 4.

Make sure AV1 input (Settings -> A/V Settings) is set to the iPod mode.

Note: Whenever the unit is manually reset, the A/V setting will default back to off, so be sure to change it back to iPod if your unit is reset or disconnected from the power source.

Alright, so I reset the unit and made sure video one was set to iphone. I'm still unable to hear anything thru the speakers, again i'm able to select songs, shuffle, etc...

Do I need to plug anything else into the back of the unit itself other than the USB cord thats coming out from it. I don't need a dongle do I?

Thanks

You're not reading the link Jason so helpfully provided that answers your question very clearly.

As it states, if you use just the Apple USB cable that does not have RCA connectors, then indeed, you will not get sound.

Sorry :( Link has been read. So now the question is which cable is better the Pioneer one or the Iphone one? Or does it really make a difference. I've read that the pioneer one can go out on occasionally...

Thanks again!!!

If you bought the F90 new that should have come with the cd-iu230v cable you need. Did you not get it?

The iPone cable is just a USB cable. You would have to use the Pioneer one because it has the USB and AV connection.
