Every time I turn on my AVIC-F700BT with the ipod attached and I select the ipod as an iput source, the avic says "updating VR database". The ipod plays, but the avic won't let me control it in any way until the vr (voice recognition, I think) database is updated. THIS TAKES SEVERAL MINUTES!!!

What the heck - every time I turn my radio on I have to wait several minutes to control the ipod?

Have you bothered to read the manual, you would have discovered a setting to cotrol this.
