Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to give you a heads up and gather opinions on a new ad banner I'll be adding to the site beginning August 1st.

As you all know, the forum has one ad at the very bottom of the page.

Beginning August 1st, I will be experimenting with one additional ad at the top of the page before a post. As always, I will try to make it as unobtrusive as possible. I also want to stress the point that this site will NEVER have ANY sort of pop up, or ads placed inside of your posts like some forums.

I may remove the ad, I may leave it in place, we'll see how it goes.

I think ads on either side would be a prudent use of space while remaining unobtrusive, AND it would increase visibility of the ads (the one on the bottom isn't very visible right now because most people never scroll down that far.)

What about adds for non-registered viewers. Logged in members see a reduction in adds. Just an idea.

I am sure that it's the ads that PAY for the site, so that we have access to all the great info for free...

Ok, so I'm a day and a half early. I determined that an ad placed at the top looks like absolute garbage.

In place of a banner, I have placed a very small ad at the top of every topic.

What do you guys think?

Thumbs up! Unobtrusive but still very visible. I like it.

Ever since you posted this topic, btw, I try to make a point of clicking a couple ads every time I'm on.

Ya I get that. I meant you could add larger or more ads for those who don't register.

To be honest I didn't even notice the new ad until you mentioned few posts up
