What brand and size sd card is everybody using for playing music?

I have used a ocz 8gb sdhc and my unit will freeze on screen along with a patriot 8gb x-porter usb flash? Using a sd mini 1gb it will not freeze along with a dvd audio same thing plays perfect! This leads me to believe that the F900bt will not properly play sdhc cards and 8gb usb mp3 properly?

I'm using a Sandisk Ultra II 8GB SDHC that currently has 6GB of MP3's on it .. having no issues what so ever .. this is on a AVIC-F700BT.

I also use a Sandisk Ultra II 8GB SDHC full of MP3 and a Kingston 2 GB SD without any problem.

I got a 32gb card from hong kong on ebay for 20 bucks shipped, and it works great. No problems.

Wondering if my unit has to go in for repair? It is new refurbished, but usb and sd screen freezes whille playing mp3, and other people ar'nt having problems?

Hanibal ..

I would have to say you're having an hardware issue there.

I'm still running the 2.0 release on my F700BT .. I'm waiting for the official release of 3.0 to be mailed out .. I'm not that daring to attempt putting these hacked versions of 3.0 on my system.

just bought the scandisk 8gb ultra II and still same problem! Spent to much money on sd cards and system should not freeze like this! Stock system performed way better and spent all this money for problems!??

Since it is now obvious that you have the hacked version of 3.0 installed on your HU .. sending it in to Pioneer for repairs is now out of the question .. they will see what you have done and probably void out any warranty.

Does having a SD Card inserted at bootup change the startup time?

Posted Aug 04, 2009 · 11:06 UTC#14

nope

Hannibal, I'm having the same issue with an 8G Sandisk SD card. Your saying that you formatted the SD card and re-copied all of the files back onto it and that fixed your issue?

Posted Aug 04, 2009 · 18:58 UTC#16

I deleted the my flashdisk first before pasting the updated one with 3.01 in it. Then my sd card seemed to work alot better.

Now that i think about it, it seems i started having this problem after updating to 3.0. With the SD card in the radio becomes unresposive, as soon as i take it out everything is fine. Guess I'll do the same and see if that works for me as well. Thanks.

Before the card was unusable, screen would freeze could not use my steering wheel controls.

Posted Aug 05, 2009 · 13:49 UTC#19

I deleted the contents of "My Flash Disk" and restored with the 3.01 update from this forum and it does seem to have fixed the issue. I can play files of the SD card and the screen does not freeze up.

i still have the odd freezeups now since putting mods on. I may have to to put all the mods in the 3.01 update then copy the contents of my flashdisk over again.

Posted Aug 05, 2009 · 15:30 UTC#21

What mods have you installed, I'm still un-modded since i copied over 3.01 and its working well. I'm wary now of doing any mods.

gui theme, speed camera, map mods. I think i will try to put these on the 3.01 update first then apply them from a fresh install agin. Theres no reason for the sd screen to freeze up and all of the controls? But no one else has these problems which is pretty bizare!

got an old sandisc micro-sd sdhc 8 GB restored (bad format to 4Gb, kill sd-card, reformat to 8GB), not the best, and works flawlessly.. One problem, when i chosse music from SD, the radio automaticaly choose a random tune and plays it. Normal ??

I got a 32gb card from hong kong on ebay for 20 bucks shipped, and it works great. No problems.

I am in semiconductor business and there is no way a 32gb SD card can be priced that low at the moment ,those dirt cheap ebay 32gb sd cards are re-mapped and re-assembled low quality 4/8 gb sd cards that can be purchased for less than $2 dollar in South China ,files will corrupt if you try to store more than it's original capacity in those fake sd cards.
