Second gen Ipod Touch with Z2, does it work?

I tried searching for this before posting.

I'd read somewhere that many of the older Ipod accessories do not work with the new second generation Ipod Touch. My 30GB Ipod Video just died, so I'm looking at replacing it with a Touch model. Can anyone confirm that the first or second generation Ipod Touch works with the Z2/Z3 through the Pioneer Ipod interface?

My Touch works with my Z3, but it only plays the music...doesn't charge the Touch, and of course no video. I just leave an old ipod mini hooked up to it and leave that in the truck.

Good info on the second gen Touch not charging. I generally leave my Ipod in the truck unless I'm traveling by air. Can anyone confirm if the first gen does or does not charge?

Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I have some info to share.

I purchased a CableJive Dock Stubz+ and it does enable the Z2/Z3 to charge a 3rd Generation iPod Touch.
