I read most of the posts here about the upgrade to firmware 3.0, but I am still unclear on a point.

I live in Europe and I have an US version of F900 (still fw 2.0). I had no problems so far in installing a modded ezrider.exe for iGo 8.0, along with European 8.0 maps (and several other mods).

I would like to go to the new firmware 3.0, that contains also the new iGo 8.3, BUT: will the new ezrider.exe work if I am replacing the US maps with European ones (v. 8.3)?

I see some users talking about an workaround: after updating everything to 3.0, put back the old ezrider.exe, along with APL folder, so they would have all the updates (WinCE and fw), but still the old iGo 8.0 with 8.0 maps.

Can anyone shed some light?

Hello!

I had the same problem as you, upgraded to 3.0 but couldn't use eu maps that I had on 2.0. BUT. What I found out is that if you simply delete the APL2 folder (from the 3.0) from your unit and copy/paste the APL2 from the 2.0 folder than you will have the new 3.0 program WITH your prevoius maps and pois and everything! Try it, it's working for me (f700bt). And all the other new things are there just the navi is the 2.0 version. And later if they find out how to hack the new one's ezrider we can put it back!

Yes, I have an US unit. I updated it like this:

It works perfect.
