Sound in FM but not CD/NAV/DVD?

I just installed the Z1 in my 07 Element SC.

I have sound, both static and button beeps, in FM but when the CD is playing there is nothing... no beeps no cd, etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Rodric

You'll have to connect the blue/white wire of the z1 to whatever wire it is you have the blue wire hooked up to. There's a way to make the power antenna lead act like the amp turn on wire, but I don't have a z1 so I can't say how to do that. I'm sure though someone else will chime in.

Actually when I first read this, I had no clue what that could possibly be. But, cntrylvr79, that got me thinking and I think you are right.

Maybe 07 Float's Element has some amps for the speakers and instead of using the remote turn on for those amps, he (or his installer) hooked the power antenna wire to the turn on for those amps....

Open something AV (FM, CD, AM, etc... whatever). Then hit AV SETTINGS and go to the settings tab. Look on the bottom right button. If it says AUTO ANT RADIO, then press it once so that it changes to AUTO ANT POWER. Then the power antenna lead will be energized all the time the radio is on, not just when the FM or AM is active.

If that works, then the car's amps should be wired to the Z1's remote turn on, not the power antenna wire. They are similar colors. And they have the same current they can source. Technically it should be hooked to that, but it's not going to hurt anything to leave it this way... that's if what I said to do works.

I just ran into the same issue. I tried your guys test of turning the 'auto ant radio' to 'auto ant power' and it worked!! I'll probably switch the leads as the install isn't closed up yet.

Thanks!
