When I go to install the 3.01 update from Pioneers website onto my AVIC, I get about 52% done and then the WHITE update screen FLASHES and turns RED and says UPDATE FAILED, FILE COPY ERROR...

Now I have tried the update on 2 NEW different SD Cards and I still cannot get it to work... What could I be doing wrong? Am I not copying it from my Computer to the SD card the right way?

Any help on this is greatly appreciated! I am still having the Rear Speaker Issue from my other post, so if anyone knows a way to fix that, PLEASE also let me know!

Try doing the upgrade again. When the screen turns red, take note of the filename that shows on screen.

Then manually copy that one file to the SD card, and try updating again. I've run into issues when doing bulk file copies to SD card. Of course, I also use a cheap ass card reader.

I am confused. You are trying to upgrade an F-Series using the X-Series update? That won't work without using hacks.

I thought thats what everyone was doing who upgraded their F700/F90/F900 to 3.0 with the software from the new X series...

No you can not use the x710BT update to apply to the F700, you need to purchase the 3.0 upgrade, it's not free.

Those here that are running the hacked 3.0 on the F series are doing so by installing it manually using the instructions in those threads.

If you already update your F700BT to version 3.0 using hack, you can use the file from pioneer to update it to 3.01. However you cannot update from version 2.0x to 3.01 using the file from pioneer website.

I got it working! Thanks guys! It was a bad 2GB SD Card... Went out and bought a new one and it worked perfectly!

IS there any special steps to take to get 3.01 to run???????

My 3.0 on my F90 works fine but i cannot get 3.01 to work, its just ignores the SD card and boots up normal.

please help...
