when i am parked the compass is off and when i start moving the direction goes the right way and sometimes when i come to a stop light it goes wrong again.Anybody have any ideas what could possibly be wrong?

I would venture a guess to say that the compass is entirely based on direction of travel, and therefore would have a high probability of being incorrect when you're not moving. That's just a wild guess. It was that way with my previous GPS (Navigon).

Indeed. There is no _compass_ in the Navi, only a GPS receiver, and it can surmise direction of travel if there is a movement.
