I'm trying do the software modification to get rid of the parking brake nag screen on a new F90BT but I'm having problems with file copy. I've tried using two different SDHC cards (a 2gb Class 2 first, followed by a 4gb Class 4.) Both cards worked for playing music. I deleted all the music files, copied the test mode files on to the card, and successfully booted into test mode. I then did a "File Copy" for "My Flash Drive" and "Pasted" the copy onto my memory card. Immediately the system warns me that I won't have enough space to copy the whole flash drive (even with the 4gb card.) It asks if I want to proceed anyway and copy as many files as possible. I say "yes" and it starts to copy. It looks like a handful of files have been copied, and then (after about 30-seconds) it stops and says there isn't enough room to copy the next file. I acknowledge that message, and when I look at the memory card, there are no files on the card except for the Test Mode files. The cards were both formated with FAT 32. What am I doing wrong?
File copy issue
A guess. A long shot. Maybe worth a try. You said you removed all the music files from the SD card. I would try the 4G card and FORMAT it. Use the full format, not the quick copy. Now that the card is 'clean,' add your testmode and give it another shot. Hope this turns out to be the solution. Maybe someone else has another idea. Good luck.
Thanks Harvey for the suggestion - I did finally figure out what I was doing wrong. I assumed that Windows-CE would work like most other version of windows, where you can simply highlight a folder, right click - or in this case, go to the menu - click copy, and then highlight the folder you want to copy it to and click paste. But when I did that, the system was just trying to put another copy of "My Flash Drive" onto the flash drive, instead of copying it to the SD Card (which I had highlighted). I finally realized what was happening and when I actually double clicked to open the SD Card before clicking paste, everything copied the way it was supposed to. After that simple revelation, the rest was a piece of cake. I was able to modify the pioneer.ini file and now no more nag screen!
Glad to see you were able to figure it out. Doesn't it feel great to accomplish these things ourselves? Good work.
you could of course use this customised CopyTool.mscr.
It will give you 3 options:
1. Copy MiTACAP folder to Flash Disk
--> the way the testmode v1 worked
2. Process '\Storage Card\Stage\ProcList.txt'
--> read a text file containing Copy and Rename statements
3. Backup Flash Disk to '\Storage Card\BackupFlash'
--> kinda obvious, no?
After a 10 second timeout, it drops back to windows.
just thought I'd mention it
Weo
ps: also included a proclist.txt to be used as a template
