I am new at hacking this unit, I have done a couple changes to the data.zip file to eliminate some nags. I am wanting to install version 3 using the guide on this website, but want to know how to do a restore in case things go wrong during this upgrade.

 

Can someone help me with instruction or send me the link as I can't seem to find it.

I wouldn't worry about restoring 2.006 first, you are going to clear yor flash disk first anyway either that or when you copy the ver3 files they will overwrite the old files but probably best to start with an empty flash disk.

 

Just ensure that you update your wince before loading ver3 otherwise it will not work correctly.
