Bluetooth & 3.0

With 3.0, my bluetooth performance has changed for the worse:

1. With 2.0, if I was talking on the phone and got in my car, it switched over once the bluetooth booted up - now it disconnects.

2. With 2.0, if I was using bluetooth and got out of the car, I would use my phone's menu (Verizon Storm) and choose to move the call to handset. After that, I would get out of the car and continue my conversation. Now when I do it, it switches to handset but drops the call again when I turn off the AVIC.

Any suggestions?

Mine has been significantly worse too. Not for the same reasons as you though:

- Often it takes the incoming screen forever to appear, and sometimes never appears at all

- Usually when it doesn't appear, the incoming volume seems to be maxed out (and obviously I can't lower it since the screen never appeared)

- It now takes 30-60 seconds for the call box to disappear after a call is ended

- Incoming callers sometimes report loud and obnoxious noises when I first answer the phone

- Sometimes the phone just never pairs unless i restart the radio

Before the 3.0 I hardly ever had a problem with bluetooth.

Never had any of those except for the never pairing thing. That happened once.

Sucks. I really was happy the way that it was now this at least has been taken down a notch.

Oh and lets not forget the fact that the unit still switches to the map screen when a call is recieved, despite Pioneer claiming to have fixed that.

I've gotten to the point that if I am on the phone and I need to turn off my car, I tel people that I need to call them right back. Because even though I switch them to the handset - and even though I am actually USING the handset, it STILL cuts them off! Anyone else have this problem (I have a Verizon Storm, btw)?

I'm not sure if my install is bad or if my phone is. My phone was replaced about the same time as my install of 3.0. If it's my install, has anone tried to REINSTALL 3.0? I don't recall any bluetooth steps with 3.0 (as 2.0 had), but maybe I missed it.

Other than quicker button responsiveness, I'm not sure I like (or can tell any other differences in) 3.0. Maybe it will grow on me, but if the bluetooth stays this way, I doubt it.

So how about it? Any others with this NEW problem? Any without it? Did I miss something on install of 3.0 pertaining to bluetooth? Should I reinstall?

THANKS!

I am having the same issue of the call dropping when shutting off the car. A little off topic, but I am also having issues with the VR - very picky on what I tell it, I have to repeat everytime and 90% of the time, it has no idea what I am saying, 2.0 worked 95% of the time with out repeating it, and 100% of the time if I did repeat the command. I wonder if it has to do with using the X series 3.0, have to wonder if they changed the hardware interface on the unit...

Yeah, VR is bad as well. I completely agree with you. 2.0 was WAY better with just about everything it seems, other than the responsiveness which rarely bothered me anyway.

Good to know Boris. Ironically, that's the phone I had BEFORE my Storm. So to clarify, when you are in a call and need to get out of the car BUT also need to continue the phone call you can reroute the call's Bluetooth connection back to your handset and when you tuen off the radio you are able to maintain you call with the i760?

Also, there wasn't a bluetooth update with 3.0 (that was separate at least) that you recall was there?

I wonder if there are settings within the Phone menu on the AVIC that might help...
